How To Start Fast
Welcome! As a new member in CAREINGTON's best savings plan (500 Series), you should receive your new Membership packet and Plan ID Cards via mail in about 10 days.
You do not need to wait for the mail to start using your Dental Plan immediately.
After enrolling here online, you will receive a Temporary Dental Plan ID by e-mail within moments. Print this Temporary ID and take it on your first visit. There is a temporary "New Membership Verification" telephone number (1-800-372-7615), should the dental office wish to call to verify your new dental plan membership.
Fast Start Tip 1: When making your first appointment tell the dental office that you are a new CAREINGTON Dental Plan member and verify the dental office is a current CAREINGTON Dental Plan provider.
Fast Start Tip 2: Let the dental office know that you have joined the CAREINGTON Dental Plan "500 Series." This is important, because this plan offers the greatest savings. (The 500 Series varies by state, i.e. 501, 502, 503, etc., based on regional cost-of-living and other factors.)
Suggestion: We suggest that you print a copy of the full Schedule of Discounts for your State and take it with you on your first visit. Be sure you are being billed properly, because this is CAREINGTON's best discount plan for your State.
How To Start *ASAP
After joining, your member information may take a few days to appear in the CAREINGTON Member Service computer system.
However, if you wish to see a dentist ASAP (and you are able to obtain an appointment), here is how to immediately verify your membership.
If You Joined Securely Online . . .
After enrolling online, you will receive a Temporary Dental Plan ID by email within minutes. Print this email and take it with you on your first appointment. This confirmation contains instructions and a temporary verification telephone number (1-800-372-7615). The dental office can immediately verify your new membership by calling this temporary verification number.
*Be sure to bring a picture ID on your first visit.
If You Joined By Fax or Regular Mail . . .
Once your application and payment are received, the dental office will be able to verify your membership by calling our temporary verification telephone number (1-800-372-7615). Within one business day of receipt, you should also receive a Temporary Dental Plan ID by email.
If you do not have an e-mail address, we will mail a copy of the Temporary ID
What Happens Next: In 2 to 4 business days, your new member information will be uploaded into the main CAREINGTON Member Service computer system. Your printed Membership material should arrive by mail in about 10 days.
Vision & Rx Plans: You may start using the Vision Plan (included) and Prescription Plan (optional) once your ID Cards arrive via mail.
